Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka appoints Gavriel new general manager

Le Méridien Dhaka has appointed a new general manager.

Constantinos S Gavriel will now lead the award-winning 5-star luxury hotel as its general manager.

Gavriel has more than 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry, according to a media release.

He started his career as a business development executive at The Kensington Hilton in London and has held various positions within Marriott since 2011.

Gavriel previously worked for the Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts in 2003 and is familiar with the rich cultural heritage of the brand.

“I am thrilled to be joining Le Meridien Dhaka, and I very much look forward to working with the team to elevate the guest experience to the next level within this dynamic and growing market,” the press release quotes him as saying.

After almost 14 years in London, Gavriel, had his first taste of working overseas in the Middle East as cluster director of sales and marketing for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts in Riyadh, which includes the spectacular and ultra-luxury Al Faisaliah Hotel designed by Lord Foster.

Since leaving Saudi Arabia, Gavriel has worked in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

Prior to joining Le Méridien Dhaka, Gavriel was General Manager of The Renaissance Aktau Hotel, Kazakhstan.

The British national holds a BSc (Hons) degree in International Hotel Management from The University of North London.

Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka is located near Shahjalal International Airport and has 304 rooms, including 25 suites and the largest presidential suite in the country, according to the press release.
