Warrants are out for 35 BNP activists, including senior leader Barkat Ullah Bulu in a 2015 case over violent incidents in Dhaka city.

On Thursday, Dhaka's First Special Tribunal ordered the arrests in a case filed under the Explosives Act by the Paltan Police Station in Dhaka.

Prosecutor Tapash Pal told the media that 12 out of the 47 accused in the case are out on bail while warrants have been issued for the rest.

The court has ordered Paltan police OC to file an update over the arrests by Apr 5.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Razvi and National Standing Committee Member MK Anwar are among the BNP leaders out on bail in the case over violence unleashed in the capital in January 2015 when the BNP-led alliance was enforcing a nationwide blockade.
