“I just used those words in a light-hearted way to infuse energy among the workers who came and stayed at the meeting venue for hours,” he said.
His comment did not go down well as he faced criticism from different corners of the party.
Earlier, in different meetings and public rallies, Quader termed the so-called intruders ‘hybrid’ in the party and announced to drive them out of the party.
In a recent meeting in Sylhet, he termed the ‘intruders’ as the crow and expressed his determination to purge them from the party.
“I said crow in Sylhet and I was criticised for that. Now, I will not say crow, they (intruders) are domestic chicken,” Quader said in a meeting at Meherpur on Monday.
The social media exploded with criticism where many party people complained that the general secretary insulted the activists by comparing them with chicken.
Quader is now requesting the journalists not to make the reference in the media anymore.
"For god's sake, please don't write crow-chicken anymore," he said.
