Bangladesh face a tough battle on Day 5 as the Tigers attempt to answer the towering 713 total set by Sri Lanka in their first innings in the Chittagong Test.

The visitors took a 200-run lead thanks to centuries from Dhananjaya de Silva, Roshen Silva and Kusal Mendis before declaring at tea on Day 4 and sending Bangladesh to bat.

The Bangladesh innings started well, as openers Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal put on a partnership of 52 runs.

But Sri Lanka’s spinners proved the undoing off the top order near the end of play as Dilruwan Perera dismissed Kayes for 19, Lakshan Sandakan scalped Tamim at 42 and Rangana Herath snapped up Mushfiqur Rahim for 2 on the last delivery on Saturday.

Mominul Haque remained unbeaten at the crease on 19.
