The Bollywood star became Qaidi No. 106 at Jodhpur Central Jail following the verdict announced by a Jodhpur court in a blackbuck poaching case dated back to 1998, reports Times of India.
While in jail, the 52-year-old Bollywood icon skipped his dinner but continued exercising, reported TOI.
He skipped his dinner on Thursday and refused to eat the porridge and gram served to the inmates on Friday morning.
He did an hour of exercise on Thursday evening, said Jail Superintendent Vikram Singh.
The superintendent told TOI Salman has been sleeping on a mat on the floor and politely refused when asked if he needs a doctor.
"He went to sleep around midnight and got up for a few minutes at 6:30am when the jail siren sounded. He went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30am," said Singh.
Salman refused the breakfast served to inmates on Friday morning and checked if he was allowed to purchase food from jail canteen. “He asked for a glass of milk and bread which was given to him,” said the jail superintendent.
The actor skipped his lunch on Friday after he was informed at 11:30 am that the court will decide on his bail application on Saturday, Singh informed.
However, the star actor astonished the jail staff by starting his workout in the sweltering heat at 3.30 pm after meeting his sisters Alvira, Arpita and actor Preity Zinta despite missing three consecutive meals.
“He is a tough man,” commented Vikram Singh.
The staff arranged for his bath upon his request.
An officer in jail said Salman was given dinner afterwards. He has been drinking water on a regular basis.
Jail Superintendent Vikram Singh denied the rumour that Salman spoke to Asaram Bapu, the rape-accused, self-styled godman who happens to be Salman’s neighbour in jail, stating that Salman is the sole resident of his ward.
