Daughter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Saima is the chairperson of the foundation. She is a WHO mental health expert.
The Shuchona Foundation says before the Nov 12 to Nov 15 congress in Houston, she also visited Peru to see the Centro Ann Sullivan del Peru (CASP).
CASP is a non-profit educational organisation which has about 40 years of experience in conducting successful community- based programmes that provide employment to people with neuro-developmental disorders.
The Houston conference is co-hosted by associations from Texas and Mexico along with collaboration of the Autism Society of America and professionals from the Texas Medical Center supported by WAO.
This year’s theme is “closing the gap” which aims to facilitate opportunities where service providers, professionals and families are sharing their knowledge, experiences and support with each other.
“The congress is offering comprehensive program of distinguished speakers to people with autism, their families, friends and relevant professionals,” the Shuchona Foundation said. Saima Wazed will talk in different sessions.
