Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said that if any proposal comes from the BNP on poll-time government, it will not be accepted as the party 'patronises' terrorism.

He was speaking at a rally of his party the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) organised at the Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday.

“If they come up with a deal or negotiation formula on the election, that won’t be accepted,” he said adding “elections will be held in time as per the constitutional provision.”

Terming BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia a ‘terrorism-affiliate, Inu said that “we want elections in time and want to uproot terrorism too.”

He also criticised the BNP for rejecting the newly constituted election commission.

“The poll-facilitating government proposal means poll-spoiling proposal. It’s a trap BNP is setting up. No democratic force should fall into this trap. Thant will be suicidal,” the minister cautioned.

This was JaSoD’s first rally after one of the parties split when a group of leaders and workers left the already emaciated party to from a fraction.

“You cannot separate Jamaat from the BNP. Likewise, you cannot separate Khaleda from terrorism,” Inu added.

He said the BNP is out and out a communally-oriented terrorist party which unleashed terror at the opportune moment but preaches about democracy when they are in trouble.

Inu said that the next election would put an end to the musical chair game between the Razakars and freedom fighters as from the next election onward only the freedom fighters would play the game.

He also expressed his party’s stance for a secular textbook and take measures to end child marriage.

Among others party leaders, General Secretary Shirin Akhter, MP, DU Professor Anwar Hossain, Executive President Rabiul Alam and Vice-President Rezaul Karim Tansen spoke at the rally.
