About 500 specialists from home and abroad gathered in Dhaka in the Association for the Study of the Liver, Bangladesh’s conference which is known as ‘LIVERCON’.
The two-day conference which was themed on ‘Let’s celebrate hepatology’ ended on Sunday.
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages for the conference.
The association said they have shared their lunch on the last day among the patients at the department of hepatology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
The association’s General Secretary Professor Mamun-Al-Mahtab Shwapnil is also chairman of the BSMMU department.
The Association for the Study of the Liver is the umbrella organisation of the hepatologists in Bangladesh, which is home to estimated 30 million liver disease patients.
